My name is Jay and I’ve been kicking footbags since middle school, when some friends and I discovered the sport, the community and the tricks. It was like a whole unexplored world — one that we got to discover together. Freestyle, Net, and the good ol’ hack circle.
My Story
Honestly, I had no intention to open my own a footbag shop
…but it’s what happens when you click “buy” too many times and let nostalgia lead the way…
I’m an entrepreneur at heart, so when I get an idea in my head, I usually take steps to make it a reality.
<< || REWIND 30 years…
In middle and high school, I played footbag constantly. I owned a handful of different kinds, and my friends and I loved collecting and playing with different bags. The
names I remember: Dirtbag, Juggernaut, Bomb, Sandmaster, Dragonfly, Juice, Stally, Stellar Staller, Phat Tyre, Mighty Mite, Mirage, Sir Hemp, Sipa Sipa (this was the bag I played with the most).
I spent many-a-night thinking about the next footbag I’d buy. I’d read about all of them, see pictures in magazines (including Footbag World), hear stories, and occasionally see one in the wild.
I had heard of them all and followed them all because of World Footbag.
When I “got serious”, I bought my very first Haniabag — before she even had a storefront. Hanna was taking orders on Facebook(?) via DMs, I think — even before DM was a word. Hania stitched it herself, and I asked her to choose the colorway for me. I still play with that bag today; and my son has even come to love and use it, too!
Why Hacky Haven?
So the deal is: I’ve decided to try out the classic brands again, review them, and sell them. They’ve been pretty hard to come by, as of late. The plan is to sell these classics at barely above cost, as a way to expand our sport and build the footbag community.
AND… as an entry point into the hand-stitched footbag world. To me, this is where the heart of footbag lives.
The goal is to sell a selection of bags from the best stitchers I know. STOCKED. If there’s a live product page, the bag is in stock!
And, I hope to stock the brand that first got me into hand-stitched, too: Haniabags 🙂

About Our Footbags
Haven Footbags is our in-house footbag brand. Exceptional materials and the world’s best workmanship, paired with incredible colorways. You won’t find colorway collections like ours anywhere else.
Quality Craftsmanship
Our bags are stitched in the USA, literally by hand — with thread and a needle, between the fingers, pushed through fabric, panels drawn with a fabric marker and cut with scissors. By hand. (Did I say these bags are made by hand?) Crafted by the best stitchers we know.
Exceptional Materials
What we don’t make by hand: fill, fabric, and thread. But we source these ethically and responsibly. We’re working on an official ESG statement that covers all of this, but until it’s done, just know that we are doing our very best to consider sustainable and fair sourcing, shipping and even product end-of-life practices. Eco-friendly materials, dyes, and inks, minimizing waste, supporting local stitchers and communities, electricity use — all of it. This mindset influences everything we do.

Creating is a sacred act. So we take our patterns, colorways, and collections really seriously. We want our footbags to hit true off the foot and ring true in your heart. It might sound cliché, but each Haven bag tells a story.
